Overview: Tom Voss is a dynamic, results-driven consultant who has been involved in the development and implementation of lean enterprise solutions for nearly 30 years. Tom was trained and mentored by the founders of Shingijitsu Company, LTD., the renowned experts of the Toyota Production System. His initial exposure to lean was with United Technologies and their use of lean concepts to restructure and re-engineer the Pratt & Whitney unit. In operations, Tom had the responsibility to consolidate three facilities into one site. He was a team member of the implementation of value streams, leading the structural, administrative and cultural changes required by this strategic implementation. 

Tom has conducted workshops across several industries including automotive, aerospace, and materials. In operations, he has facilitated workshops focused on establishment of assembly lines, machining cells, and material flow methods. Re-engineered, or “lean” administrative processes of corporations were concentrated in finance, supply chain and engineering. His experience includes pro bono work in an inner city health clinic and a major non-profit organization.  Typical improvements include 75% in inventory reduction, 60% equipment utilization, and up to 90% reductions in factory floor space; within the administrative functions his teams have realized reductions in lead times of over 60%; cost reductions and efficiency improvements in excess of 50%. Targets have been achieved while improving quality and thorough adherence to safety and industry regulations. 

Tom uses a participative style to gain involvement from all levels of the organization which ensures lasting performance improvement for management, employees, shareholders and customers.
