Lydia Shutaya
Lidiya Shutaya is a controls, automation, and operational technology leader with extensive experience advancing data-driven manufacturing, industrial automation, and digital transformation initiatives. She currently serves as Senior Manager of Controls & Automation at MetalTek International, where she leads the development of standardized, secure automation strategies across divisions, identifies process improvement opportunities, and guides projects from pilot implementation through production handoff and preventative maintenance.
Previously, as Senior Operational Technology System Architect at PennEngineering and Manufacturing, Lidiya designed and deployed data architectures, machine connectivity solutions, manufacturing KPI systems, and automation technologies across diverse equipment and global operations. Her multidisciplinary expertise spans controls engineering, industrial networking, data collection and analytics, manufacturing systems, robotics, Python-based development, SQL databases, and visualization tools. She has also led Lean Six Sigma initiatives focused on improving throughput, workflow, asset management, and on-time delivery.
Lidiya holds a Master’s degree in Applied Data Science from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University, with minors in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering. She brings a practical, systems-focused approach to connecting technology, operations, and business strategy to improve safety, efficiency, and manufacturing performance.
